Emergency rooms across the nation are in crisis. Your donations help the American College of Emergency Physicians Foundation develop solutions.

In some areas, medical specialists such as cardiologists, neurologists, and orthopedic surgeons that emergency room doctors call upon to help treat you simply may not be available. In addition, emergency rooms are closing across the country – from major cities to small towns – leaving Americans who rely on the safety net of emergency rooms with few places to turn.

To address these issues we’re working on a number of “Keep Your ER Open” projects, including a national report card that grades your state's commitment and support of the emergency medical services you rely on. This report card will be a key tool for government officials and hospitals in working to fix our nation's ailing health care system.

And part of fixing the system is keeping our country’s remaining emergency rooms open so that everyone has access to the urgent care they need, when they need it.
